The Youth Center offers programs serving school-aged youth and their families with services that include leadership development, mentoring, student assistance, and other prevention services.
It is one of the few agencies statewide to be recognized for excellence in service by the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services, receiving the Exemplary Prevention Award three times.

CONGRATULATIONS....to our MyCom Youth Council!
On November 5th this amazing group of Shaker High School students sponsored an
outstanding event for the senior residents of our community at the Stephanie
Tubbs Jones Community Building. This senior fair titled "Bridging The Gap," was the
result of the Youth Council being awarded a grant from the Mott Foundation for
the second consecutive year. After two months of preparation, our talented, dedicated
youth organized this three hour event which attracted more than 90 of our senior
citizens. Free transportation was provided where needed. Lunch was served and
'hot' take-home dinners were provided as well. The entertainment included a
performance by the Shaker Heights High School Improv group, bingo, caricature
drawings, a raffle, line dance instruction, a disc jockey and much more. More than
35 Shaker youth worked together to organize this fair, and their participation made this
special event honoring our senior residents possible.
KUDOS to all of our young people for this tremendous effort!
